Elsie Irene Roberts, born October 1919 to parents George Roberts (deceased at her birth) and Mildred Roberts (maiden name Dyer).

Elsie was the last child of nine and never knew her father, he was killed July 1919 in a so called "accident  whilst in the finishing stages of building a Well in a doctors back garden in Roche, Cornwall.
