Mouswald Parish (part of) Dumfriesshire - c1880
The map below shows part of the Mouswald Parish, under the "M" and slightly to the left is where Mouswald Church is situated, this is where Francis Tweedie and family are buried. ~ In the center of the map is "Pantath Hill", below this you will find "Pantath", and slightly below and to the left is "Pyehills". Francis Tweedie moved to "Pyehills" in 1805, and in the 1841 Census we find him at "Pantath" with his wife and daughter Jemima.

Jemima (Jamsey), married John McMillan in June 1843 at Mouswald Church then resided at "Pantath", whilst the Tweedies moved back to "Pyehills" until their deaths in 1862.
John and Jemima had three children at "Pantath", David, Elizabeth and John, records show that the fourth child, James Tweedie McMillan, was born in October 1851 at "Pyehills".
