Fond farewell to Mouswald church

A Final service was held at the historic Mouswald Church on Sunday 13 February 2011. Declining numbers and increasing costs means that the Church of Scotland’s linked charge of Cummertrees, Mouswald and Ruthwell will be merged into one. The united congregation will worship at Ruthwell Church in future.

The current Mouswald Church was built in the 1800s and refurbished in 1929 but there has been a place of worship on the site since the 13th century.
